Fostering Strong and Effective Collaboration Between Government and CSOs in Kyrgyzstan (1st stage)

The objectives of the research:

  1. To gather and analyze data on cooperation projects and activities that have been developed and implemented on a partnership basis between government and CSOs at the grass-root and national level, to explore how partnership arrangements have been developed and implemented
  2. To identify good practice in partnership arrangements and the factors which have a key influence on successful implementation of the partnerships.

A compilation according to a structured research framework of examples of government/CSO collaboration. The proposed research is to be covered all 7 oblasts of Kyrgyzstan and its capital Bishkek. The identified sample of cases and experiences relating to the cooperation between government and CSOs are geographically and functionally/methodologically representative.

Type of services provided:

  • A compilation according to a structured research framework of examples of government/CSO collaboration
  • A book of case studies with an introduction
  • A list of key stakeholders to whom the book should be sent
  • The distribution and dissemination of the book in two languages widely throughout the country

Structured research framework is provided by creating templates of examples of government/CSO collaboration. The templates (case studies) should capture concise and general information which is used to choose methodologies and tools on which to develop a compilation of full case studies.

Some case study categories may include:

  1. Basic information on the agencies running the intervention, local, sector or level or focus;
  2. Context and scope such as driving force behind the cooperation mechanism, the target audience or demographic group;
  3. Tools and Methodologies used;
  4. Results and Impact; and
  5. Further references.
