The goal of this project was to gather data and analyse impact of the school support program, implemented by Mercy Corps International (MCI) in Kyrgyzstan. This program was funded by US Department of Agriculture (USDA) under the Global Food for Education Initiative (GFEI). Public Association Counterpart Sheriktesh monitored and evaluated situation in 60 educational institutions in Kyrgyzstan, in which the USDA/GFEI program on commodity support for education was implemented. Of this number, 20 schools were directly supported with commodities and 20 schools were involved in the grant program. In order to obtain information, documents on enrolment and attendance of children, log entries concerning commodities acceptance and distribution were studied, as well as financial documents on grant programs. Within four-month period, 100 individual interviews, and 80 focus groups with participation of teachers and tutors, parents and representatives of local communities were arranged and conducted.
