A joint team from the Counterpart-Sheriktesh, Kazakh and Tajik NGOs, Community Empowerment and Social Inclusion (CESI) group of the World Bank Institute, the Participation & Civic Engagement Group of the Social Development Department (SDV), ECSSD, and the Poverty Group and Decentralization Thematic Group of the Poverty Reduction and Economic Management (PREM) Network is collaborating to undertake stock-takings from across the regions on experiences with different social accountability mechanisms (both from within civil society and government).
The stock taking is focused on those social accountability mechanisms that concentrate on the different stages of the public expenditure management cycle – formulation, analysis, setting priorities, expenditure tracking and monitoring.
Type of services provided:
- Provision of experiences in the area of Social Accountability methodologies from Europe and Central Asia, thus creating a repository of key methodologies and tools in for this region
- Creation of a network of practitioners (both individuals and organizations) in the region, who can share cross-country learning and information
- Codification of the best practice for further development into case studies based on criteria identified by practitioners in the region
