The overall goal of the project funded by the World Bank Institute is to build the capacity of communities and their development partners to design and deliver more effective Community Driven Development (CDD) projects, which are responsive to the poor. In order to accomplish this, the Network will pursue the following objectives:
- Increased understanding of what makes CDD projects succeed or fail and application of these lessons to increase project effectiveness
- Increased exchange of expertise and lessons learned between various stakeholders involved in the design and delivery of CDD projects
- Enhanced quality of and access to relevant capacity building materials and local expertise on community empowerment and civic engagement
- Enhanced coordination of capacity building efforts for community empowerment among development partners
Activities:
National Networks – Representatives from community based-organizations, local and national governments, development agencies, NGOs, and other individuals with experience in CDD projects, are invited to join a Network to explore ways to empower communities and make CDD projects more effective. PA Counterpart-Sheriktesh is responsible for coordinating the activities of the Network in Kyrgyz Republic in cooperation with a “steering group” which makes main strategic decisions and fund allocation of the project. The activities of the Network depend on the priorities of it’s members, but could include: survey of capacity building efforts, regular networking meetings, dissemination of lessons learned, targeted training interventions, etc. Sub regional Networking – Videoconferencing, the Internet, e-mail and face-to-face meetings are being used to facilitate cross-country exchange of experience.
Type of services provided:
- Development of social partnership at grass root and national level, including the capacity of social partners to conduct active and effective social dialogue
- Publishing of materials related to the Constitutional reform
- Communication campaign targeted at social partners
